Sky TV filming

Guys, Ladies, Gentlemen and others…

We have been approached by Sky Television; they would like to meet with us to talk about our Club and the bike building culture, they will be filming and will air our recording on the Sky Speed Show – New episode airs tonight (3/6/15) on Sky Sport @ 9:30pm if you want to have a look and get an idea of what the show is about.
They are interested in learning about us and the bike building culture, what possess us to take a grinder to a stock bike etc…

Personally I see this as an ideal opportunity to raise our profile in a positive way, and would be cool to think, inspire others to get involved or take a grinder to their own bikes...

I am calling for expressions of interest, if we could have as many bikes as possible, it’s got to be all good.
All going to plan, they will be there at our next meeting - 14th June @ Salt Lake Cycles, Helensville.

I have just spoken to Sammy the Sky Guy, as long as it’s ok with Jon, they will be at the workshop about 12:30pm Sunday the 14th, this will give them time to set up and do their thing.

The following is a rundown of what was discussed:
They are thinking of profiling us, as in a wide open camera angle thingy to a close up of our bike then a shot of our mugs, followed by what our thing is… for example, my bike to me followed by Coops the “Office lady”… Stefan the “Crazy German”, IrishJon the “Guru” etc.. Something like that, nothing is set in stone and we have the opportunity to discuss this and obviously have a big input as to how we want this to go.
We also discussed what message WE want to get out there… if anyone would like to, I am happy to open the doors to the Fire Station and have a meeting to discuss, I’m working the next 2 nights and it’s central to most?
Sammy also asked what we generally do at our meetings, although typically we stand around talk and drink beer etc, I did say we could probably do some work on a bike, or 2? Start taking the BMW steampunk bike to bits, someone chuck there bike on a hoist and fix something??? I’m sure we can sort something out.

So, points to consider:
Are we comfortable with the proposed mug shot and brief description about us, and what do we want to refer to ourselves as?
What message do we want to get across?
Anything else you would like to discuss, get across or suggest is always welcome.

Due to a big weekend of motorsport, sky have had to postpone the screening of our episode on SkySpeed.

It will now screen next week.

Hi, the vid has been removed from facebook that i can see, do we have a DVD copy? id like one please, how to organise if we dont, they did say they would burn one, did this happen?
