Indicators / wiring Empty
PostSubject: Indicators / wiring   Indicators / wiring EmptyWed Jun 16, 2010 6:15 pm

Got my new setup done, but...the new rear indicators turm on but dont flash.
I see the Harley ones are 12v/21w, but these mini ones are 12v/10w. I think it's not drawing enough power to make it flash?
what to do? went to repco, they only have 12v/10w in those mini bulbs...

You can either add a couple of resistors inline with the rear indicators or change your flasher unit to an electronic non load sensing type or bring it me and i'll sort it.

cheers
Scotty

Hey Scotty. What size of resistors do you normally use?

I just replied to ya PM Brett, the size of the resistor depends on the wattage of the original bulb in this case 21watt so 6.8 ohm 25watt resistor will do the job, the ones on trademe will do the job just put them in parallel with the bulb then your lights will flash no problem.

cheers

I've just put weird big green indicators on the Ironhead but my camera's buggered so I can't take pics. Oh yeah. Blue ones on the Flyrite. I'm starting a big weird indicator trend lol!

the load resistors worked. but it was more stuff to try & hide under the seat. My wiring's not very hidden on this one, but I just wanted to ride again and it was takin too long...
