| I just check out the requirements for camping at Kumeu in January (14 - 16th). The web site said no camping except for exhibitors and that it was only on Saturday night. So I jumped onto teh email and contacted the ynice people who organise this thing. All looks good. Here's Desma's reply below. Hi There is camping available for people displaying their cars/bikes. I have attached the entry price list to help you calculate your costs. If you come in on Friday you have to pay for the whole weekend. Fri/Sat/Sun as it is too hard to keep track of otherwise. The guys from the south island can camp from Thursday onward if they want. Kind Regards Desma
Main Gate Prices

Swappers $30 a day
Swapper Passengers Camping $20 a day
Show Cars Driver Camping $10 a night Show Car Passenger Camping $20 a day
Show Car Visiting for Day Driver Free Passenger visiting for Day $10 entry a day
All above pricing is for one person

| Sara and I will start emptying our garage out to the site on Friday and plan to stay there on Friday (probably) and Saturday (definitely) nights. If anyone needs to dump stuff securely you can do that at my house, which is only down the road from the site.
Rumour is that this may be the last show at Kumue so hopefully we can make it a great one. Who's coming?

| Got a quote for $350 for 3 day ute hire but I'm broke so I have to rethink the plan. Still want to stay on Saturday night but probably can't bring the bikes apart from whatever I ride over. | |

| I was planning to ride to Kumeu tomorrow, but I busted my belt on Christmas eve! I've got another one on order so I'm really hoping it gets here by the morning. Turns out bulletpruf belts are shit, got a Gates one coming. I travelled a grand total of 1086 miles on that belt, I'm pretty sure they're meant to last longer than than. If it's not here, I'll share a trailer with Slaytanica. | |

| Sara and I are heading out there this afternoon and will stay Friday night at least. See how it goes on Saturday night. Pete is probably going to be there on his Matchless tonight as well. Couldn't get the Pan to start and I don't have a way of getting it out there so I'll have to ride the stock Sportster Sara is taking the W650. | |

| Bikes, tent and sleeping bags packed and ready to roll. Jon61 said Jody may be having a bbq at his stand tomorrow night. Its stinking hot and sweaty so its bound to piss down during the night. I have to say that this is the least hard core run I've ever been on. I even get to ride home for breakfast and a shower and then head back out there. Biggest regret is the finished Panhead still sitting in the garage. Bugger refuses to start. I'll sort it out so that it runs to the Beach Hop and the Blowout anyway. After that it looks like I will be coming back down to Petone to work for the next few months. Can I get a transfer to the Wellington Crew? | |
