I've just had some chrome plating done as part of the Enfield Retro Racer project, and there sure is the good, the bad, & the ugly out there. The crew I ended up using were Otahuhu Electroplaters, and they have been superb. The quality & the depth of the chrome is excellent, and they seem to know their way around classic cars & bikes.
I had previously been to Advanced Plating in Hamilton, suffice to say that my experience was not good. After receiving the item back unfinished (stripped back to the copper), I had to take it to Otahuhu.
George at Advanced Plating seems very arrogant & makes out that he's the most experienced & best plater in NZ, I don't think this is true. His prices are a little lower, but if you want to avoid a crap experience, don't go there!

I used Zinc and Chrome in Lower Hutt on my Triumph parts. Seemed pretty good to me, unless I have lower standards or something. Be curious if anyone had any comments on them.
