| I still can't get over how billy joel paid so much for one of those,I just don't get how they can charge so much for that bike as there ain't that much to it. | |

I hear ya. The key to them selling them is in the marketing. We know what they are (basic jap bobber), but...if you can convince a man with $ in his pocket, that it's the coolest new toy to have in his garage... People study marketing literally for years. It's the manipulation of the human mind. (That's why we need our tinfoil hats). It's one thing to have the skill to build stuff. It's a whole 'nother skill again to be able to convince people to buy it for a lotta money. | |

| I bet its still cheaper than that piece of crap OCC built for him and he did'nt even like it. Billy Joel has a lot of money but he generally knows his bikes. He's been collecting them for years. I'm not keen on the lines of that frame. It looks bent with the angle of the pipes. Too much space behind the engine as well. But that's just my opinion | |

| I liked the Triumph but that Evo is wrong on lots of places. It'd make a good project bike though | |

| Plus the seat, front fender, rear fender, rear wheel and tire and the tank. Motor, frame and forks are fine | |

| You know, I think we undersestimate just how much places like Deus do for the bike scene. There are definitely positive benefits for all of us. We don't have to buy their bikes, there's plenty of other people who'll do that. What they do is help desseminate biker culture out to the mainstream population. Without places like them & OCC, what we are into here would remain a very underground part of our overall society (maybe you would like it to remain that way???). Seeing a Deus bike while you have a coffee or watching OCC or Biker Build Off could be a person's first encounter with this bike thing. Isn't that better than people just getting Honda's latest factory chopper thrown at them, or Harley's bolt on collection of this anniversary or that fire dept or so on & suchlike? After looking at a Deus bike & saying, 'maybe I could have a go at doing one like that & it wouldn't cost me nearly as much if I do it myself, & I could make it the way I want it', then having a go, could end up in that person joining this forum & being influenced by wonderful persons like us! We gotta be careful not to get into the tall poppy syndrome (kiwis are notorious for it apparently). Go for it Deus, Shed 5, Paul Jnr, build all the bikes you want...it all helps put this scene out there to more people.
