| Just bought this, cmx450 Rebel, my plan is to convert it to a Bobber with short rear fender, side mount bullet taillight, struts instead of shocks, & sprung seat

What about straight welding some tube from the end of the top rear of the frame to the end of the swing arm (instead of struts?)

well i spent some of today lookin at pics of rebel bobbers, i think the bobber that is really giving me some ideas for what i plan to do is this one. Short chopped up bobber fender & struts, with some 3" coil springs under the seat for comfort. I think little shorty mufflers tho, rather than cocktail shakers

there's someone on one of the US rebel forums that's telling me that I should leave it stock, as good 450's are becoming harder to find, & apparently in the US a good 450 can go for 3K US ?

Stock sucks, its your bike, make it your own. hell i cut up a perfectly good original Lincoln Continental, best thing i ever did. _________________ Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

yeah i agree, way to go, i like the Lincoln, I remember the photos, woulda been boring stock. and i dont think i could quite handle that bike being just stock like that anywayz. i would have to start riding in a nylon raincoat & a pink fluoro vest.

If nobody cuts up and trashes bikes cars e.c.t then they will never become collectable... sure if it was the last of it's kind and already in mint cond then you gotta think about it thats how i got my c11 the guy was gonnar chop it but decided it was too complete and good to hack so he got on the look out for a bitza/parts bike... personally with a rebel i say go for it i've heard to many yanks say that the jap bikes are worth heaps over there.... maybe they should have imported more.
