Just a headsup, if anyone ever wants a 'small' (2.25 gallon) sporty tank that bolts on to 95-03's or 86-94's, (available for both) one of my suppliers now does these. Im thinking of getting one myself soon, to see what it looks like instead of the stock 3.3 gallon sporty tank.
I haven't worked out a price yet; if anyone with an XL seriously wants one I'll figure out a price. It will probably be cheaper if it came in with mine (combined shipping).
They also have bolt on rear bobber fenders for 82-03 XL's, which I'm also looking at trying out.

hey brett. just a warning. a customer of mine recently got me to paint one of the reproduction sporty tanks. it was a china made piece of shit. the bottom was roughly welded and needed a heap of finishing to stop from leaking. the sides and top needed a full spread of filler to straighten also.
your supplier may be different quality but i'd hate you to spend 3hundy or so on a bit of junk.
cheers

yeah thanks Andrew; the supplier told me the same thing.
He said the v twin mfg tank is the bad one apparently, the drag specs one is the goody. He supplies the DS ones. There are of course other dodgy Chinese ones as well out there, but this is just regarding the bolt on XL small tanks.
i think with the fender the v twin mfg one would be worth a try, im tryin to find out what they look like on - ive seen a pic of the later one on an 08 and it looks primo. I want to keep my other rear fenders instead of chopping them so it's a good option for me.

I have a set of V-twin custom mirrors... they are of average quality as far as chroming is concerned. They look alright but showing some rust in a few joins

I used to buy parts from V-Twin every week. Some were good and others pretty crappy. I bought a complete FL front end with forks, wheel, headlight, mudguard etc. The for lowers were chromed and the axle wouldn't fit. I had to file down the chrome and then it started to peel off the fork legs. Very disappointed, especially as I didn't want chrome in the first place. I have used two of their frames now and they have been great.
