| Hey Brett, I have two of these, ones a donor, and supplied the head and barrel, and a third engine the cam and some little bits, so, thought i would bore one barrel out a bit, wiseco piston, lumpy cam from the states, and i have an old Blue Magnum flatslide 38mm i would like to try, which will need a new throttle cable made up. I wasnt going to do much on this and just use it for fun while i get other bike built, but, it is a lot of fun and maybe worthy of more investment, due to having spares for africa i may put the other on the back burner a bit. Really, i want to build a bike that Zero type 5, love those...using a sporty motor. For the savage I would like to get another rear guard and mount it off the swingarm so hugs the tire, maybe i will get the tailight and seat off you after all for this bike after all.. Writing this from Buenos Aires on my way to spend another 5 weeks floating round catching fish so thats my trade me time (just got internet on board last trip friggin excellent)....my wife doesnt bother checking anymore to see if the boxes that turn up at the door early in the morning contain presents for her.. | |

I can give special prices for GM's, less than Trademe price, pm me beforehand if there's anything u like. yeah must be great to have internet on board. motor mods sound good, yeah I think all bobbers are worthy of some investment, i mean, some stuff better to make yourself, & some stuff u wanna save some $ on, but sometimes people just wanna put something on their bike which is kinda a special feature or just that something extra, can make all the difference too if & when u wanna sell it. sorry everyone my shameless marketing speal will end here... (actually it's just that I enjoy finding nice parts for people's bikes, so i get a bit over enthusiastic sometimes). | |

| luvin that big pod air filter, looks mean, likin that sportster styled muffler too hey dunno what your plans are re rear guard...just as a possible suggestion, Justin does a range of nice fibreglass rear guards, the molds are off old school guards & look real good if you are looking for something to mount off of the swingarm & hug the tyre...they are usually less than or around 100 or so each which seems quite reasonable to me some of the guys on here have an allergy to fibreglass & will say that it should be beaten outta steel & rolled on a wheel (or cast it in a forge or somethin hehe) so if that's yer preference then all good. I saw forum member Cam did a steel one for Mike's bike on here, real nice job, so that could be another option? anyway I guess u may wanna diy, but thought I'd throw a couple of possibilities out there to help the thought process... keep up the good work | |
