G'day, my name is Dave a.k.a. VINTAJ, a friend of Mark with the Sportster from Hawkes Bay. I'm the guy with the lo-budget shed-built '86 Honda CX400C bobber that Mark mentions in the introduction posted by jon61 earlier today; thanks mate!
I've been a fan of hot rods and choppers even before my high school years in South Oz in the 1970s, when I got my first cars and bikes; and I have really enjoyed the "koolness" of the lo-brow kulture since then. I'm now living in shaky-town Christchurch, and am currently getting into pinstriping - more for my own artistic satisfaction than as a potential money spinner - but hey, who knows...
My bike is an economical and ultra-reliable fun ride - with a nice V-twin rumble at lower revs, and a motoGP snarl when I open it up; great around the suburbs and quite adequate for open-road cruising.
A bonus is its quirky uniqueness among the bobber-tribe!
P.S. Since taking these pics, I've temporarily replaced the pull-back bars with some flatter ones from a Buell - for more streamlined open-road cruising.
