| OK, so this has officially started now. Due to popular demand its going to be more of an exhibition rather than a competition but I'll still sort out some trophies, t-shirts and prizes. The official Blog site is here: http://irishjon-greasemonkeygrinderfest.blogspot.com/That was set up for people who don't want to be part of the forum but we can use this thread to register Grease Monkey bikes and to follow the progress. I'd still like to put the build pictures into a book at some time. There are two classes: Runners: this is for finished bikes. They don't have to be scratch built and they don't have to be road legal. They may even be complete now but the point is that they have to have been modified with a mixture of home built and after market parts. We are looking for interesting design or fabrication skills. You don't have to be a master builder or have the ability to weld. The bike must be able to start and tick over. Projects: Hopefully more than just a collection of parts in a box. Same thing as Runners except that these ones don't have to be finished but they need to show ordinary people how we go about putting a cool bike together. I'll post some of the bikes that have already registered, a bit later. | |

| I've just posted Mike's and Cam's frame shots on the Grinderfest Blog. Keep those shots coming and if you get time, how about a quick write up of your project so the other guys can get an idea on how you get the inspiration and how you're going about the builds? Thanks guys. You'd be surprised how many people round the world watch these blog sites. I ran a counter on mine for a while and got hits from just about everywhere that they have bikes. Time to let them see how we do it down here in God's Own. | |

Hi I have a work-related meeting on Monday with MOD from MOD's Motors - see http://www.trademe.co.nz/Community/ModsMotors.aspxI will ask him if he can promo the Grinderfest in a future MOD's Motors and if TradeMe could come up with any prizes, sponsorship? Worth a crack anyway. Cheers Eel

| Anything free is cool. Damien is costing up some posters and stickers and I'll run a few flyers off at work and send out the file if anyone else wants to throw some about. | |

| Now going for a 48 Pan replica seat. I have to make up a t-bar to mount it and I'll use a mountain bike shock under that, something like Doug's bike but maybe a bit older looking. I like the way the fake seat post looks on my twin cam but I think I can make something a bit more interesting.

Just a bit more fab work on the coil tank and a bit of boxing around some of the mounts. Then Shaun's going to wire it yay.

| It sounds kind of cheap ass but since we didn't have t-shirts done yet Sara and I got beanies embroidered at the local shoping centre. Two lines on each one: Grease Monkeys Grinderfest 2011Cost $18 to keep my head warm and do some advertising. | |
