| I plan to post pics of the bike Im starting with, next week. What I can tell you so far is: 1. It's not a big capacity bike so it won't measure up to Woody's requirements for being a manly man's bike :-) 2. My idea is that I wanna do a bike where I dont care about it being road legal eg. not worrying if there's no indicators, no front fender, no speedo, or having stuff on it that doesn't comply to road laws, so that I can do what I want with it to make it look how I want without having to think about that sort of stuff. I think that might make it more fun & not limit creativity. Thus Im thinking about calling it 'outlaw'. (having said that, I may leave provision for it to be made road legal at some point; I just dont wanna have to think about that stuff when I do it). I must say Im very thankful to God for finding me a project bike, as I had been looking 'from the outside in' at the different grinderfest projects & wanting to find a cheap project to do. Would like to get it done in time for Sept. | |

| put carb back together, put back on & it runs much better. (when i got it, it didnt run, had been in storage shed for several years). Traced electrical fault to faulty ignition barrel, replaced with a Chinese one. wouldnt go into gear, clutch was frozen from all the years of sitting. put a cable tie on the clutch lever for half an hour, then rocked it & it came free. took for ride down road. chain was loose so tightened it. still gotta take front caliper apart as it's sticking. | |

| me stopped playing with toy helmet & did some work on bike. the light wires used to run thru the bolts, but this bracket setup needed longer bolts, so me drilled hole in in light with wiring grommet to run wires thru. lights only had power wire & they couldnt self earth due to rubber isolators in brackets so me took them apart & soldered an earth wire to the light socket assembly. |

| name of this bike should probably change as it's vin'd, wof'd, rego'd now. finished the wiring yesterday. have painted painted the tank blue, waiting for Honda 60's style tank badges to arrive then will put those & the AJS knee rubbers on the tank. after chopping down the front fender, I wanted it in bare metal like the rear one so I filed & sanded it a bit & coated it in clear. still have cosmetic work to do, polished the valve cover while the tank was off but need to polish the engine side covers. i only used the grinder with the cutting wheel to chop the front fender, & hacksaw on the pipes, so I dunno whether it's hardcore enough to be in Grinderfest; Irish you better let me know at some stage whether Im allowed to put it in the show | |
