| If you want a bare steel finish, is it customary to spray clear lacquer over it ? Are there matt or stain clears? Also, with aluminium, to get a bare metal finish, do you just polish it? or can you put clear over that, or will the clear not stick to it? cheers |

| Cases are alloy and they are normally lacquered but I'm not sure how well it will stick. You can get flat clear for the steel though. _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

| Aj might know more but i think if you clear a metal finish you still need to wax it or it goes yellow???? _________________ Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle. |

| with aluminium you can get away with just polishing it with autosol if you apply it every now and then the finish stays shinny dont think youll have much luck with clear coating aluminium unless maybe you went for a brushed look so it had something to stick to. cheers |
