| With my kz200, Im having constant troubles with the little engine. I think the head is a dud and will cost and arm and a leg to bring another one over from the Uk or US. My thoughts are putting an SR250 engine in it and getting Jody or someone to weld up the new engine brackets. If anyone knows anything about smaller motors and frames or has any imput that would be great.
Thanks | |

| not an expert but this is what springs to mind: 1.find out exactly what's wrong with yours, if possible, then you know what you're looking at 2. changing motor: (i) are the motor mounts the same on an sr250 to a kawa 200 (probably not) so Jody would need to cut off the old mounts & make new ones (technically speaking you need a cert for that) (ii) is the chain drive on the same side? (iii) the sr250 motor would need to be lined up for your kawa rear sprocket (iv) will the sr250 motor fit into your frame? (do measurements)
easiest would be get another kawa 200 mtr or if you really like the bike then do or get rebuild on existing one | |

| Parts for the engine are as rare as hens teeth and then expensive if you can find them. Wouldn't be worth rebuilding it or replacing the head, would cost more than the bikes worth. Looking at getting the bike running then selling it. Buying an sr250 for day to day riding and a trumpy project. | |
