| This is probably one for Doug. I put a new battery in my 2000 softail yesterday after having it off the road for the last 6 months. Started up fine but when I turned it off and tried to restart it the security module clicked in and disarmed the ignition. Of course I have lost the pin number. Tried putting a new battery in the key fob (button one) and reassigned it. No luck. Tried to reset the pin but it doesn't seem to go into configuration mode. Did the on off on off on thing with the ignition switch but the indicators just keep flashing until it eventually resets with the key light flashing on the console. The siren stopped working a while ago so at least I don't have to listen to that. Any body got any ideas before I have to give up and take it in to Amps in the van? Cheers Irish

| Played around with it a bit today. Looks like the key fob has lost its assignment, which it shouldn't be able to do. I have all the instructions to reset everything but I can oly do it when the alarm is disab;led and I don't have a way to do that. I rang AMPS and they didn't know whatit was and were too busy with work to give me a date when they could look at it. Looks like I won't be riding a Harley this summer afterall. Anybody want to buy a really big boat anchor? | |

| Jon, you could try Moose at KTL, Western Springs (if he's still there) - he's ex AMPS Also there's apparently another ex AMP's guy called Ken on the shore, I would have to txt my mate to ask the contact detail for that fellah. maybe try KTL first? | |

| Wimped out and took it to Amps. Now they reckon there's a short somewhere in the wiring and needs an expensive strip down plus a newl security module. Just as well it's going to rain all summer. Had a quick run on Sara's new 73 Bonnie today. That cheered me up. Woody. Are you going to ride the Handbag up to Kumeu?
