So just over a year ago when I got my license, I got this:

GB250 Clubman, 250 thumper in cafe style. Through usual mistake and being a noob I lost a side cover and put some badly repaired dents in the tank. All was going well, aside from the exhausts rotting out and a seriously unstable idle (sometimes randomely started revving its tits off when the engine wasn't under load) You know, usual joys of cheap bikes.

Then this happened.

Thats the gear shift spline after the previously unnoticed welds broke, ****ing gypsys.

Anyway, couldn't get a weld on it, hoping fix it in the easiest way possible, get it a WOF and sell it for an honest price.

Ummm'd and ahhed about dropping another engine in

****it, had a lunchtime beer and ripped the engine out,

Tear it down boys

Gear driven twin cams make me hard

At some point I poured paint stripper on the tank

Anyway, pistons show evidence of blow by, conrods got heat rash but it should be sweet once I replace the base gasket, thus allowing the engine to retain oil.

So, current missions are:
1) Find a wiseco big bore kit, alot of meat in the bores, could probably get it to 280 without issue, XR owners report a bizzilion Horse power gains from this Razz
2) Split the case, source, and replace, a mother****ing gearshift shaft.

Things that will begin to happen:
Paint tank, black racing stripe on gunmetal I reckon.
Decide what to do about seat and tail.
Bikini fairing possibly/katana type shield.
Clip ons or dirt bike bars.
Remove stock exhaust/rear footpeg mounts to tidy up the lines/declutter rear end.
Kick start conversion, battery removal/replacement.
New headlight, probably do over and unders or something, mismatched side by side.
Fab up a 2 into 1.

Feedback, questions, thoughts inspiration, post away.

you may need to get those in from overseas, is there any forums that cover these bikes, or models that are relatively close to it, if so, the guys on the forums usually know where to find parts. google is your friend

It looks like this now

It sounds fucking primordial, trying to work out the paintjob, I like how rough it is though, suits me fine, gonna wrap the pipes, put a small debaffled trumpet from a cb200 on, and make a 1-2 manifold to mount a disgusting massive pod filter to the carbs pirat
