Hi Tony here, I have been reading your posts for about two years now but never thought there was a need to sign up until now.
I have done up two bikes so far both being (dear I say it ) Gn 250's but I found them to be a straight foward bike- so easy to covert.
The first was my baby, a 1985 which I put a hard tail on. Two years of blood sweat and tears with most parts fabed up from scrap, custom built from new or bought off T.M.
One day I decided to go to the movies with a mate, when I came out it was gone- pinch in broad daylight with heaps of people around. No one bothered to ask what these guys were up too.
The second was a 2006 Gn which my mate owned. After he moved to Auz he asked if I could sell it for him and I said I would but that I would customize it to make it stand out from the rest. So I converted it to a flat tracker style, a relatively easy built but still took 6 months to do.

I will post pics as soon as I can upload them.

Now I have bought a 1984 Kawasaki gpz 550 with the plans of converting to a cafe racer hopefully another easy build so I can start riding again. I will start posting pictures as soon as I make some progress.

Welcome, can’t wait to see some pics.
I agree they are a straight forward bike to work on, pity they are so underpowered, boring and a nana bike standard… yes I own one too ;-), (at the moment) I must admit, once “worked on” to be different from standard, they are fun to ride.
