| Anyone know which would be the best place to get male 2 and 4 pin Deutsch Connectors for Harleys. And anyone know how you attach wires into the things? Do I have to go to AMPS? Dick Smiths? |

| You can get the plugs from W&W but you still need 2 different pliers to fot them and they are really expensive. Unless you are doing loads you'd be better to go to AMPS. _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

| Thanks Jon. Yeah I think I'll try AMPS, cos then they'll already have wires on them. Didnt realize you needed those plier thingies for them. I always have to go to my happy place when they tell the price of things at AMPS...I wonder how much they'll want for bits of the wiring harness for the tailight & turn signal wiring? |

| I just cut them off and use cheap connectors. I checked out the pliers. The real one is 370 Euros and the cheap one, which looks like a normal pair of crip pliers, is 93 Euros. I think you could probably use a normal crimp pliers and buy the plugs. Which ones are you looking for? _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

| I know that AMPS sells the connector kits for you to make them up. No idea on price though. _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

| yeah cheap connectors is one option, but... I want to be able to swap the original rear fender with it's tailight & turn signals back & forth with the clean fender & it's side mount lite etc. So my thinking was to unplug the 2 turn signal & 1 taillight plug, then wire up the alternate ones to some male deutsch plugs that would then plug into the existing female sockets. So I can swap the setups back & forth easily, as necessary. So Im basically looking for 2 two pin & 1 four pin deutsch with wires on them. I think they would need to be male but i havent pulled them apart on the bike yet to check. I guess what I would need from amps would be the tailight board to main harness wires. ACTUALLY, im thinking now that on an 03 sporty it might be a 6 pin that runs from the main wiring to the taillight. (it then gets split inside the taillight) so it's probably a 6pin with wires that im lookin for. |

Thanks man. Yeah I think, like Jon says, if a cheap crimper will work to put on the pin thingies, those ones you've posted could be the way to go. |

| Somebody was selling them on Trademe last year after they had rewired their bike. It was around $250 so that Ebay ad was cheap. _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

I wouldn't mind one at that price Scotty. I'm pretty fed up with ratty looking connections on my bikes. _________________ IRISHJON Serial Bike Abuser

| here's a link to the supplier I was talking about, these are a cheap crimper but as you will see they are only for a set size terminal 16 or 20 so you need two to cover all terminals, but I spoke to another supplier today who is looking into a multicrimper that will do all sizes and both open and closed type deutsch pins for around the $280 so I will keep ya posted.
