Hey fellas (and ladies),
Just thought I'd say a quick howdy and intro here: I'm Coss, I live in Welly and ride a Harley.  I'm a big Cafe Racer fan (Ton it Up!) and still holding out for my '59 Triton dream.

Anyway, kinda chuffed I stumbled across this website :-)

G'day Coss, good to have you on board. Cafe'd the Harley or left it stock? Cheers , Milkbar Cowboy.

Cheers man!

My ride's a little tricky to Cafe out (although the Germans do some awesome kits - I just have to stump up with the sauerkraut so to say), but I've started with the basics and lowered it, CFR exhaust, filter, fueler, dumped the stock indicators and lights, side mounted the number plate... and of course added the mandatory drag bars :-)   I've plenty of plans (just plenty of bills as well haha) but next change will probably be some custom paint.
It's a Street Rod (VRSCR) and I gotta say I'm pretty happy with the performance and looks...it's also my daily ride, so gets a fair bit of abuse!

My last proper cafe racer was an old '74 norton commando that I built from a box of bits - was definitely not for daily use that one...but alas she's long gone now.

What are you riding?

Wonder if a v-rod motor would go in a featherbed frame? Have you checked out Head full of Snakes? Luke who does it is into Nortons and Cafe racers. Milk bar Cowboy.

Totally should have kept the Norton - I sold for sod all as well (think I got $7k for it?), but that was back in the 90s before trademe. Have you seen the new/old ones they're making now? Pricey, but damn they're nice.
Putting a vrod motor in a featherbed frame would be fricken awesome - but I think the idea might come unstuck with the radiator requirement (doable, but would look pretty weird?).

Oh not heard of Head Full of Snakes, but did a quick google search and a motorcycle magazine came up...is that the one?

Looks as though I can't post photos because my account isn't over a week old (I's on parole, noooooo!)

Hey guys - finally finished the paint and panels that I'd been planning since I bought the bike... it's certainly different!  It still needs some finishing off:  I'm going to have to change the bars and/or the risers as my dragbars hit the new tank, so I've had to turn the pullback risers around so they point forward and frankly it looks a little silly.  AND now that the central speedo cluster has gone, it's exposed the ugly rusty nut on the steering stem - so I'll have to get a cover turned up at some point.  Oh and the front fender was painted around the wrong way - so I've been wracking my brains trying to think of a way to mount it backwards and it seems like it's going to be easier to just get the thing repainted, sigh.

Anyway, here's a couple of camera phone shots of the paint work... I'll get some professional shots taken when I get my studio lights all sorted.
