PostSubject: Hi Everyone, Im Jacob   Mon Mar 09, 2015 9:24 pm

hi, I'm Jacob, i live in Christchurch. I'm only 17 (hope nobody holds it against me) and am just recently getting into bikes and am hoping to revive a 1973 Suzuki TC185. thinking on changing it up a lot because it is past its original look. thinking about perhaps transforming it into a Cafe Racer style bike but not too sure where to start as it is a trail bike. I'm thinking new seat, handle bars, tank, but it is also quite high off the ground so perhaps lowering the front folks or something??

any advise on where to start or where to get parts would be great or if you think it wouldn't be worth even trying to do please say so.

thanks

Hi Jacob, welcome aboard.
there used to be a race series in the UK where you converted TS250 Suzuki trail bikes into race bikes. Basically they just changed the wheels and stuck on clip on bars and a full fairing. From memory I don't even think they were lowered. You can always drop the forks in the yokes and fit shorter shocks or reposition the lower mounts to get the same effect. Have a look for Heiwa and Brat Style on google to get some ideas.

Hi Jacob

Sorry for the late welcome, but, welcome to the site.
I'm curious to know how you are getting on with the Cafe project?
