PostSubject: Remap Moto Guzzi ECU?   Mon Oct 05, 2015 11:34 am

I have just finished reassembling my 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport in the style of "old school" minimalist cafe racer. The airbox was removed and replaced with Uni pod foam air filters and the mufflers have been replaced with 12" stainless steel reverse cone megaphones. The bike seems to run just fine but I am unsure whether the ECU needs to be remapped - I have had different reports on the matter from bike mechanics and am totally confused - is anyone able to shed some light on this for me? confused

Hi V11 Max

Unfortunately I am unable to shed any light on your current predicament, but I can offer you a warm welcome aboard.

There are a few Guzzi enthusiasts lurking on here which may be able to throw a few cents worth of advise in, I would also suggest (if you haven't already), find us on Facebook:

Grease Monkeys - Bike Builders Club

Ask the same question there, and you may very well get a quicker response.
And a lot of advice... good and bad.

Thanks for the welcome Coops, I don't have a Facebook page but will set one up soon. Before the alterations to the bike I regularly checked fuel consumption and have noticed that the figures haven't changed after the alterations so am assuming that the bike is not running too lean.

Sounds about right to me... though I'm no expert.
If it runs good and isn't doing anything strange, you're probably ok.

After the changes... pods and pipes, I'm assuming you re jetted the carbs?

No rejet of carbs because this model is fuel injected

Doh... I should have really paid attention to the year and model of your bike.

I'll just sneak away quietly now...
