what's the best way to seal up a fuel petcock thread (where it screws into the tank) ? is loctite fuel resistant?
when i put the enfield back together, i put on a new fuel petcock, they use a generic British type same as old bsa, triumph, and it was supplied with a fibre washer. it is leaking a little.
fibre washer? what was they thinkin? is all old British stuff expected to leak ?
anyway, suggestions on a thread sealer & what type of washer to use (copper?) would be good...please...thanks

I got a thicker fibre washer(sump plug type) & some gasoline resistant gasket sealant, and tweaked it up tight with that. I decided to still use a fibre washer (albeit thicker) since maybe the British monkeys knew something when they made these things. Jon let me kno what kinda tape u r talkin bout? wot was those letters again? PK? (chewing gum) PPP? (poo pudding plan) ...might work?

standard white plumbers tape from Mitre 10. I've always used it on petrol taps with no problems.
