as long as you attach a white rag to the end of it that should be ok. Im not sure how it would affect the performance & sound of the XL1000 engine tho, it would pay to put it on the dyno & do some re-jetting if you're gonna extend it anymore than 4ft 6in. also there are the practical issues of it snagging people's gumboots, handbags, old ladies stockings, short furry animals etc

I like that idea too. I can see you tripping over that thing if you don't do something with it and soon. drunken

An upswept one would be good but I'll probably just shorten it to get it on the road but I'm definitely going to try that upsweep sometime.
But I would like long fishtails on either side of my springer.

The twincam. I fancy relacing the front wheel with a 16" rim and having pipes up either side. Got no money or time but I'm getting bored with it. Haven't changed it in 2 years.

OK, so rather than cut the long pipe I swapped fishtails with the Twincam. I think this all works better.

really like the side profile of that ironhead, the way the bars, tank, seat & pillion, rear guard are setup seems to work well

I had a look at a 1956 Fordson truck today but the bed was too short. Now I'm looking for as cheap long bed ute for humping stuff around. Still haven't been able to bring the Panhead home.
