white footpegs amf era

having changed to white seat & white grips, would now like white footpegs (yes i know they'll get dirty, my whole bike is dirty).
there are these white rubbers that have 'Italy' embossed inside them, HD on the outside, that apparently fit fat(1 3/4) pegs on 52-84 K & XL Sportster & 71-84 FX Superglide models. oem 50940-61
what further complicates things is apparently those pegs were female, & my evo sporty ones are male.
help me please. how can i do this?

Just had a look at my 84 Sporty that I bought new rubbers for and they are female. It wouldn't be hard to make new male ends that fit the stock 03 bike. W&W sell white rubbers for late model pegs as far as I remember.

hey Jon if ya dont mind looking when u have time, are the ones on your 84 kinda fat, same sorta dimensions as what im talkin about (1 3/4 x 3 1/2 approx) actually surely they must be 1 3/8 diam, 1 3/4 sounz too big to me
i'd like those amf ones so im thinkin maybe get some stock pre84 ones, & change the rubbers to the white amf ones
im thinkin the mount can be changed to take a female peg?

Yeah mine are the fat ones. Ill try and get a pic of them over the weekend so you can see what you would have to make up to make them fit.

took the pegs off my evo sporty & had a look. the footpeg mount is rebated out on the inside & slides over & acts as a retainer for the levers, to stop them sliding sideways.
im wondering whether any modern Harleys have front mounts for female pegs instead of the ones I have which are for male pegs, that would fit my setup.
Then I would need to know if the old style pre 84 fat pegs would fit on the modern mounts.

need the mounts circled in the pic, then will cut 'em down so i can insert pre84 mount thru 'em. (2nd pic)
dunno if the mounts circled in the pic are stock HD, or whether they were part of the forward controls kit? can anyone shed light on that?

had a look at the aftermarket suppliers as well, to see if anyone has white footpegs for modern Harleys - couldn't find a thing

im thinkin another option would be to take a modern male peg & mod it by putting a sleeve over it, to make it fat enough to fit the old type rubbers.
for that I would need an exact diameter of the 84 & earlier fat pegs, without the rubbers on there, so I know what outside diameter the sleeve would need to be. then the rubbers will be a good fit & not slide off etc. could you put the vernier on yours when you change the rubbers please Jon?

well as usual not a whole lotta help or suggestions goin on over here on the GMs

anywayz xl forum ironhead dudes told me the ironhead pegs are 1.4", so one option is to increase an evo male peg to that size, cut down the length & put the white rubbers on it (ironhead pegs are shorter & fatter)
Another option is to use the complete female ironhead pegs with white rubbers & work out a way to mount them. The engineer I go to down the road is really good so I might ask him about what he could make up for me to mount the female pegs to my forwards. I found these ones in the pic, which are another alternative, not sure whether I like them (they're an old CCI nos part) or whether I like the plain white repop ones.
ive also asked that dude that builds those replica panheads bout it, maybe he'll come up with something, he's pretty clever & a real nice fellah

I'm pretty sure that W&W do something for them. I'll have a look in the catalogue.
