just how close can I run my strut & fender strut mounting nut to the rear tyre. Is 5mm enough clearance? 140/90 x 16 rear tyre

I normally set the gap with an oil hose. That's a bit bigger than 5mm

five oil hoses to abit of string seven bits of string to a wide set of bars 17 and abit wide bars to a burn out.....

5mm should be fine so long as said bolt/nut is off to the side of tyre and not on top of tyre, As your tyre will grow in height at speed. Hope this helps and assures me of a place in Heaven there God's right hand man.

thanks bud, yeah it's over to the side, still above the tread pattern but over near the edge, & the strut comes down 5mm out from the edge of the tyre wall
