PostSubject: 1983 suzuki GR 650   1983 suzuki GR 650 EmptySat Jan 21, 2012 10:53 pm

So my latest project is in the shed, its a 1983 suzuki GR 650. I got it off a guy in Whangarei who was not impressed when i told him of my plans for the bike and replied "oh you're one of those''. I had to bite my tongue as he clearly was of the opinion that it was a good looking bike in stock form and was worthy of restoring, I don't think so Tim. Anyway took it round the block a few times and it seemed to run fine so up on the stand it went.
The plan so far is to change the tank, bars, seat, lights and a few other bits and pieces , the frame and rims will be powder coated. Will post the photos. Ps found a cool old tank off a 67 TS suzuki 200. 1983 suzuki GR 650 P10106291983 suzuki GR 650 P10106321983 suzuki GR 650 P1010681

Hi Keith. Good catching up yesterday. I don't even remember those 650s. Mustn't have made it to the UK. Good job on that frame rail. Keep the pictures coming.

Hi Irish
was good to catch up,what did you think of the bikes at the show? I know it is realy a hot rod show but was a bit surprised at the lack of custom shed built bikes that rolled in.
Yea i dont think the gr650 came here in big numbers ,in the states they badged them Tempters!!! but did not sell that well ,must have been the gay name.

Question Just looking at that suzie again, is it as short coupled as it appears, or is it trick photography.
