Front fender and cert Empty
PostSubject: Front fender and cert    Front fender and cert EmptySat Nov 09, 2013 6:45 pm

I notice alot of you are running no front fender, is this something that has a nasty habbit of vibrating off not long after a warrent... but is part of the tidy up for warrent time

I did think of trying for a fenderless exemption for a period style hotrod (bike) but the local hotrod club didnt like the idea lol

any way round this one other than cheating ?

I've managed to get a warrant with a very short front guard. The guy running VTNZ said that it didn't matter on bikes as only the rider got wet. I need to get a warrant on a little cafe racer with no back guard and I expect that will be more of a problem. Guess I'll have to sort some temporary thing out.

Rear is all good got a guard that really looks the part and the shape just screams 70's lol
Its the front I cant come up with anything that looks any good... even gone to the trouble to form one out of steel so I could get it as close as possible.... looks marginally better but doesnt suit the bike lol

It doesnt help I know the cert rules, its very clear in the book that 1/3rd of the wheel must be covered, describes it and gives a diagram...

It's easier to cover a third with the back one since there is always the frame, battery and such cocering the wheel but I guess you're stuck with keeping the mounts on the forks or making some sort of quick release. When we were building cafe racers in the 70s it was all fibreglass guards held on with hose clamps. Not to pretty.
