| Hi guys, been a while of just watching everyone else’s projects, well I came across this old ironhead, parked and it fitted my needs, pre 78 so I don’t need all the bull indicktators and stuff, kick start so I can receive acc payouts for missing limbs and this beauts headed for bare basics, as required for on nz roads and its only 3 years until it’s a vintage.. Cheap rego... yay.
I scored it needing a bit more work than I thought as to just a quick fix to get it riding so I could enjoy summer...
Shoved a bolt on hardtail I got of some dude around the corner, its ugly but was cheap and hardtails it until I can get my cast axle plates... and do it for real (Sorry woody, thought I’d save you weeks of work!) The pipes AND the SIDE MOUNTED NUMBER PLATE! Should hide most of it...
So now I’ve decided to do a run next weekend out of town on it...
With a week to go... wiring needs re-doing, no exhaust, ½ bike still needs assembly, won’t run (timing and spark issues), flat front tyre, and need to do everything to get a Wof so I can get Rego off hold...
Happy days, it's going to be a very long weekend coming up! Nothing like leaving it all to the last minute! And the motivation!
Cheers

| Nice one Jon - that's gonna be cool. Avon's front and rear? Good luck with the finishing. I'm sure the end product will be to your usual high standard. | |

| Excellent Jon. Swing by if you get the chance when it's up and running. I'd like to see how you mount the rear fender. I got one last week and it's real tight to the tyre so not much rook for wheel adjustment.

| yeah.. they have some baffles in them and i had a DB reading. the plugs std are NGK B6L or Champion H8C but because there is electronic ignition i need resistor plugs but NGK dont do an equilivalant.. and champion do but its a RH8C and no one in NZ seems to have any?! so i will have to get some from over seas my self... aparently resister ones dont foul as much as std ones and it must have an affect on the electronic unit ? who knows?! cheers | |

| That looks good. My personal favourite is bare metal, but that graffiti look is still good. Have you thought of putting bungs in the side of the tank with a clear sight tube? | |

| Nice one Jon. I saw another couple of Andrew's tanks sitting in the parts dept at Amps last week. Very nice work. | |
