| On Saturday Im receiving an Enfield Mini Bullet. They were made by Enfield India in the 70's. They have a tank with chrome sides & use an enfield version of the 197cc Villiers motor (great motors but quite turtle like by todays standards - does anyone remember them?) My understanding is that the mini bullets are pretty rare. The enfield encyclopaedia just gives them a brief mention, and even enfield enthusiasts dont always know that they existed. It was sold by Golding Spares in Khyber Pass in the 70's (Rambler Spares - I used to have a Rambler & I remember Goldings having bikes for sale - I think just as a sideline they sold one or two at a time). Goldings has long gone - they had old ramblers sittin out the back in the long grass - man Auckland has changed! Anyway Im planning a kind of resto on it but with some improvements/changes to the original (will just keep any orig parts put aside somewhere) Hoping to have a photo soon so will post when I have it.

| I can ask some of my guys in India if you need to find any spares. It looks more like a Suzuki than a Villiers motor though. There's thousands of old Villiers motors in the UK. They were used in a lot of different bikes. | |

| it has a Villiers piston in it. yeah i think Enfield India put different engine cases etc hey if you find anyone from India that knows anything about spares or anything else about them that'd be great. It goes well so that's a start. It's coming from my sister who found that not even Enfield agents knew anything about them, and they said they couldn't get spares. Enfield India dont supply anything for them either. Im thinkin to change the rear guard, exhaust, seat, taillight, maybe bars, & do a resto on other stuff on there. Along those lines. I think the tank sides have survived pretty well so that's a bonus. Have to go finish the kitchen renovation first...

cool. i been lookin up some threads & it looks like they're even rare in India now, although they do seem to have some knowledge & awareness of them & a few pics around. i reckon it might suit a cafe racer style, esp considering that they say the Indians raced them. hard to imagine racing with one of those old 197cc's but hey... could keep the tank but change the seat to racer style. change bars etc. the tank is almost like xlcr shape so that look could work i reckon.

| got it here today. this is what it looks like. I feel it needs at least a change of seat & rear guard for a start, so i did a mockup. but im gonna get the vinning done first before I customize. i think it needs like one of those old honda rear guards(cub?) & a scalloped or british looking seat. peashooter exhaust. straight bars. etc. | |

| hey also...anyone know much about options for mufflers when it's a single cylinder two stroke? apparently the muffler on there is a kind of expansion chamber & is quite important to maintaining power. I was gonna put a peashooter on there. Did the villiers ones have to have a certain type of muffler? | |

| You could build up a fibre glass seat pan with a hump pretty quickly. The volume of the exhaust is pretty important for a 2 stroke but you should be able to get a replica for a bike with a Villiers motor from Britrish spares in Wellington that would fit. Just keep the header pipe. | |

| yeah i was thinkin to paint the header pipe black with vht paint.(surface rust). I'd just like a muffler that looks a bit more 'classic' than the one that's on there, plus it's got surface rust too. would be great if i can find a muffler that looks classic but still does the job for the 2 stroke. | |

it's a cool little motor. Starts & runs real nice(especially now that it has a new battery, the one that was in it was stuffed). Nice to smoke - something different. I've ordered a new skirt - so Im planning to get into it soon. Just need to get some little things like new fish net stockings and high heals now. Im thinking metallic pink for the paintjob. will post a pic once I have a mockup of the changes. the previous owner told me 1:1 for the premix - does that sound about right for a Villiers lawn mower motor?

Geeze Brett "STOP" dont talk like that, scary! as for fuel mix, the gas we get now here in NZ , is almost just solvent so when all that changed (when they said about melting seals and stuff a few years back) the recomdation for 2 strokes was to up the oil in the mix to help lube and counter that, might pay to find someone into vintage motorcross as i do know they have the fuel and mix well sorted for 2 strokes... to suit that. have fun.
