- Looks interesting Brett. :ooking forward to seeing its process.
it's a cool little motor. Starts & runs real nice(especially now that it has a new battery, the one that was in it was stuffed). Nice to smoke - something different. I've ordered a new skirt - so Im planning to get into it soon. Just need to get some little things like new fish net stockings and high heals now. Im thinking metallic pink for the paintjob. will post a pic once I have a mockup of the changes. the previous owner told me 1:1 for the premix - does that sound about right for a Villiers lawn mower motor? Geeze Brett "STOP" dont talk like that, scary! as for fuel mix, the gas we get now here in NZ , is almost just solvent so when all that changed (when they said about melting seals and stuff a few years back) the recomdation for 2 strokes was to up the oil in the mix to help lube and counter that, might pay to find someone into vintage motorcross as i do know they have the fuel and mix well sorted for 2 strokes... to suit that. have fun. it's alrite Jon, someone has been very naughty !!! Im not wearing a skirt & high heels & painting things pink with a joint in my mouth, so please put your mind at rest. yeah i was told 30:1 for the 'lawn mower motor' but saw 25:1 on the net for Villiers so might go with that. Will do some more asking before I fill up. LOL at the changes to the post - well done whoever that was | |

| well i took my pink skirt & high heels off long enough to do a bit of a mockup, but i got some hog pig swine symptoms tho so havent done much else still waitin for the broomstick bars & a few other things the box like rear guard will be taken off - will run with no rear fender NEED ADVICE: How far back should the cafe racer hump go? is it ok where it is and make it almost like a 2 seater, or should it go further forward & make it like look like a one seater? Any opinions advice from cafe racer aficionados? Irish? | |

| I'd push the seat right up to the tank. The hump will start just around the shock and that will look balanced. | |

| thanks dude, I'll mount it forward then. hey while you're in cafe racer advising mode, one more question, re the seat: i have some 30mm closed cell foam. I was thinking to use a chunk for the bottom & get it covered. My question is, do you think I should have a small semi circled bit at the back as well? im not going flash with domes or anything like that, just mildly shaped pieces of the foam, covered, and attached to the fibreglass seat thingy from underneath. But I just need to know whether I need a 'backrest' part or would it be acceptable to not have one? (I've looked at tons of Bobbers n stuff, but this is the first time I've thought about racers, so that's why the questions) | |

| All the original ones we built had a thin foam pad on the bottom and on the back part and they were covered in vinyl so you had a sort of L shaped pad. On all the newer ones over tha last few years, they've only padded the bottom. I think they look better when the whole seat area is covered but have a play around with the foam before you cover it and see what looks good. | |

| got over the swinedogcow flu enuf to actually test fit the muffler & the racer cowl/seat. the bike goes fine with the muffler, but too loud, so I will add another baffle. Sprayed some crc on the fork bolts so will get into that sometime soon. There's heaps of cosmetic work to do on this bike. I wanna do a good job so Woody wont make too many lawn mower comments | |

| For those who are interested in my lawn mower updates...fork gaiters are on. I loosened the pinch bolts & undid the top bolts. Nothing would move. Puzzled. (Used to harley forks that drop straight out). Tried tapping on them etc. More puzzled. ...sought divine assistance at that point. Turns out that that the fork tubes themselves are threaded into the top covers. So you turn the whole assembly to take them out. Put some fork oil in them too. | |

| Looking good but I still would have preferred clubmans. Short flat bars are cool though. | |

| yeah i gotta get them narrower, they are still too wide - but waiting on new levers before I can cut down more. I think I will be able to take about 2 inches more off them. | |
