I realise i might be a bit late , but i do have a issue with the colour scheme . Red and black , a quick glance and it could easily be mistaken for a couple of other patches .

Ah, hell no Keith, please don't say that... it's been a bit of a mission to get the club patch this far. I understand where you're coming from and what you mean, but we as a majority have kinda agreed on the colour and design etc.
That said, I have had a photo of a produced patch from the embroiderer, and I'm not convinced we have it quite right just yet, was hoping to have it to bring tomorrow, but it hasn't arrived in the post.
Long story short, to get the detail we want, we may need to go for a bigger patch or a redesign... more information to follow once I've received the sample and had a look.

I have ordered and paid for 15, so at this stage have a couple spare.

Just about the detail on 7cm patch , I have a couple done by Papamoa local who is the wife of the guy that organised the Distinguished Gentleman rides and detail is pretty damn good. The one is 6cm  x 8.5  the other just under 8cm. Dont want to steal your thunder but might be worth another shot .

I'm using a place in the Mount, I think they're based... patches.co.nz, I think they know what they're doing it's now just a matter of the size and the amount of detail in our current design.
Sounds like it may be the same place... they are really good to deal with and want to get it right for us, as I've already paid, I think we're fairly committed to seeing it through with these guys.

I'm of the opinion we need to go bigger, but it's not up to just me, I appreciate your input... I need more of it and from others so as much of us as possible are happy with the end result... bearing in mind it's going to be near on impossible to please everyone.

The sample patch arrived today and I think it looks fantastic... I'll post a picture tomorrow with a size reference and we'll go from there.

I think it has enough detail & my girlfriend told me size doesn't matter.

Ok, seems to be a fairly unanimous "Yay" for the patch, I'll order them in 8cm... and get rid of the red in the middle of the hairline... looks too much like a bindi

8cm will hopefully keep those that want 7cm and those that want bigger happy... a nice compromise I say.
