Started mocking up the new shifter

New seat turned up this morning, decided to get a black seat, Gator skin. came with 3" hairpins and bracket

Got the "wicked" polish out again and took to the rear wheel, its not mint, there is too much of the chrome already coming off but there was heaps of grime on it so i set aside a couple of hrs, cranked up the Slayer and went to town. heres some before and after pics.

yeah.. looking sharp.
apparently the yanks dont zink, copper or something what ever under their chrome.. so it wears like that, re chrome here and its heaps better lasting..

i use steelo soap pads on chrome like that and it makes quick work..

well done, its coming along real well.

wouldnt mind changing it, i quite like the upsweep systems, maybe the cocktail muff's on the ends. or go real obnoxious short little fukrs. im open to all sugestions on the way too Twisted Evil

Finally got started on the wiring, made a start button out of an old maglite that i had. Brought a little plastic box thing from Jaycar to hide the fuses and relay's, going to mount that under the trans.

Yeah lucky its an old pan, not many wires to find homes for, just need a couple more things before i can fire it. does anyone know where to get cloth style wire conduit? or tape

Got all the wiring finished up tonight, all the things that are suposed to work, work so far. got tail light. head light ,high beam and speedo back light cant test the brake light untill my brake lines arrive from the states, i got a pressure switch banjo bolt like pauls sporty. start button turns the engine over. just need to wait for Gerald to finish up the tank and i can fire it up. youtube vid will follow shortly after.

Gashed up a fuel tank and fired the old girl, even the charging system works. still waiting on the fuel tank and some brake lines from the US.
