Hey all,
Heres a project you wont see everyday
I like the looks of 60s cafe racers especially Tritons & Norvins,so here goes
I started with a Beemer R80 frame & added an american Kohler 726cc v twin mated to a Triumph pre unit 4 speed,Guzzi forks,Benelli front hub,jappa swingarm & rearwheel,Norton derived fibreglass tank,seat & rear guard & Rickman fairing
Sounds easy I know but Ive spent A LOT of hours in the mancave!
Have a look here for the build thread:
Note that youll need to join up & log in to see the pix

it's cool, a real retro racer.
i like the ingenuity with the home made covers for the Konis (great shocks, I used to have some on my Sportster, back in the days when it was comfortable ) Laughing

Yeah, those fire extinguishers never saw THAT coming...
Its a shame you cant see most of the earlier pix on the build thread, theres a lot of other home made stuff on this bike

Yeah, not bad for this 50 year old amatuer spraypainter eh?
This project has come a long way in the last couple of years, be good to finally get it finished & actually ride the thing!

Previously Id made header patterns & had them scanned & mandrel bent out of 38mm od stainless @ Autobend & so finally got Lois' exhaust back from being TIGed up & then spent way too many hours dissassembling/grinding/sanding/polishing/reassembling repeat etc
but came out OK, so now its on to the next drama
