| Hey guys. Got some more progress on this today. Its now going to run over the course of one week and the two weekends either side. There will be something on every day across that period. There will be bands, hot rods, vintage scooters. Starting to sort out all the details like t-shirts and posters and freebvies. I'll post updates as I get them. A big week long partry sounds good to me at teh same time that the rugby partying kicks off. | |

| Only slightly panicking. I was meant to get all day working on mine today but I sold the 04 Sporty and had to deliver it and then someone came round to talk about me building an engine and gearbox for him. Maybe get something done tonight. Meeting with one of the hot rod guys this week so get them involved.

| I just need to get bikes up here. Looks like a lot of the people who originally signed up have disappeared so its likely to be us and the good guys from the Rattlers nbut that will be cool. Auckland is building up for a big party with all the new pubs and all that stuff will be on line just in time for us. As long as I can get enough people interested it will be great. I'm not panicing at all | |

| You're a star Doug. Damien just told me that he'll definitely be there with his brother Nathan and their Yam. There's definitely enough of us ther for a party. Better buy some more beer. Got told there would be a rock a billy band from Wellington. I'll see what else we got at the planning session tomorrow night. | |

| OK. So Cam, Mike and I are also very keen to attend. We just need to work out how to get there and when. Shall we meet up this weekend to discuss?
You can come to my place in the city or we meet somewhere a bit more central. We could check out your new garage Cam?
I'm real keen to go - but don't have a vehicle with a tow bar to take a trailer. I could pull the bike apart and chuck it in me wagon as a last resort - but proabbly better if wwe all go together. | |

| Probable slight date change. Now probably starting the whole thing on the 17th and running right through till teh next weekend. Obviously that's no good for the out of Auckland guys so we'll run the actual show and judging on the second weekend. Thger's going to be a party at the start and one at the end. There will be stuff on every night of the week like the Scroungers and their cars, vintage scooter night, crackle fest with a couple of nitro drag cars and hopefully some drag bikes, 50's fashion show and some burlesque girls, rock-a-billy band, etc. All teh entrants will get some sort of a deal from Shed 5 with discounted parts or clothes. There will be 4 people's choice awards and 1 judges prize. No idea what they are yet. There will also be one exclusive night that is just for entrants, scroungers and us. Not sure what night yet. Any other ideas welcome. | |

| I have to come up with some rules and we needed to set some entry qualification up so we can confirm how many bikes we will have, so I came up with this. There may be some slight changes but it will be fairly close. I know that there is no way everybody will have their bike there all week so its ok for anyone who wants to turn up on the Saturday and take it away after the judging (party). I'll pick mine up on the Sunday. Also, its totally cool for anyone who doesn't want to be part of the show to turn up on the last Saturday. There will be at least one party that is only open to entrants but I'll know more about that later this week. Here's what I have so far. Classes. There are only two classes to this show. The bike can be any make and any style but must include a high proportion of home built or home modified parts. This is not a show for stock bikes or mobile parts catalogues. It’s about invention, enthusiasm and creativity. •Movers Do not need to be road legal but must be able to be start and tick over unaided •Shakers Must at least look like a complete motorcycle and be able to roll but does not need to start or tick over Awards There will be 3 awards for each class, judged by people’s choice on the day: •Best Technical / Engineering Not looking for the best welding or panel beating. This is more for best use or whatever you had at hand to solve an engineering problem, like keeping the seat and handlebars attached to the bike. •Best Artistic / Design Turning a pile of rusty metal into an art work that you’d be proud to hang in your lounge. Think of it as a sculpture award. •Best Paint Maybe not 14 coats of candy over mega-flake. More of a “I don’t know art but I know what I like” sort of thing. There will also be a special Judges Choice award, because we want to pick what we like as well. Qualification Before Friday 2nd September you must send in three pictures • A picture of the bike, pile of parts or metal, before you started the build • A picture of the finished (or nearly finished) article • A picture of the builder in the shed, bedroom or kitchen where the bike was built We also need a short write up (around 100 words) telling us what you have built; why you built it; what was your inspiration; how you’d like to use it; and if you’d do it again.
