Grease Monkey Co-operative

Since I have a web site with bugger all on it and I would very much like to work with bikes rather than pain in the ass computer systems, I am thinking of setting up a sort of custom bike building co-op under the Grease Monkey Brand.
Back in the 70's there was a sort of bike building village set up in St Stevens Green in Dublin (Ireland). It was set up in what had been an old stables yard in the middle of the city. Each stable was its own little business. One guy did Celtic paint jobs; another made very cool leather seats; another guy did engine work.
I think we can do the same sort of thing even though we are all spread out across New Zealand. Anyone who needs work done on their bike that they can't manage themselves could come on to the site and see all the services that were offered. We would have examples of the stuff we do on the site and pics of completed bike builds. When they see something they would like, they could contact the appropriate person through the site and arrange to get the work done.
Think of it as a sort of trade exchange.
What do you think? Anyone interested?

Sounds good to me, That Pan Shovel guy's pretty good at bike repairs going by the amount of mates bikes he has parked at his place at any given time.
Cam's pretty dang good on the Leather work.
The list goes on and on.

I think it would cut down on the overhead of starting up completely on your own and we can still help each other out. I have a mate who is going to help with the design work and I can build the site and do the admin work.
If anybody else wants in just post what you would like to dfo on here and we'll start putting it together.
We are also looking at putting a small magazine together. Bikes and cars and music most likely and it will need to be wider than NZ so we need input from anywhere to get it started.

Yep. That's exactly what I'm after. I'd liker to hear how you ended up with that Pan and I'd like to hear about the band. I start a new job on Monday but I'm going to get into this seriously as soona as I can.
Can you write a quick piece in how you got into bikes; howe you got teh Pasn and somthing on teh band anfd I';; get back to you on the details. PM me a phone number andf I'll call you next week.

If wanted I'd be stoked to be a part of this for the the usual - pinstriping, lettering, kustom art, illustration, design work from pencil and paper through to computer design (not web) and if ever needed more traditional oil paintings etc

Fuckin A. I'd be interested in an oil painting of a photo of Sara and I from out side AMPS a few years back. Reckon that sort of thing would sell too.

im originally a trade qualified wooden boat builder. (stopped in 06, altho my ol man wants me to finish restoring an old launch he has sittin).
so my contribution could be in wood?

I will do. Thanks Byron. I want to get everyone who wants to get involed to send me a few lines on what they can do and a few pics as well. Then I'll start on the design.

Nope. He's waiting for new wheels. It's going back to standard 18 and 19 inch ones. I'm still in the reace.
