| Got my part machined today. Shift engineer didn't do it... ended up the head of engineering offered to do it.
Unfortunately, I'm fairly sick so left work early and probably going to shower now and go to bed.

| Got the shifter all back together now. Took it for a ride... Seemed to only get around 20Kmph if that!?
And ideas where to go from there to get it ridable?

| Oh and as far as what I've done to try and get more guff on it of it...
Cleaned air filter Drained old petrol and filled with fresh cleaned and oiled chain (still rough and rusted though) inflated tires to correct amount cleaned spark plugs (still rough though) blew out cylinder bore with compressed air disconnected rear brake in case there was binding

| Will try, although my understanding is if the carb was grubby the whole bike would run pretty rough as balls. It seems to be running smooth, just gutless! | |

| Did you do a compression test? |

| Nope. I am reaching the limits of my knowledge and abilities.
Got the spect on the bike today, he's a lot smaller and lighter. Same issue. Runs smooth but give it some throttle and it goes like a lawn mower.
He agrees, wouldn't be hitting more than 20kmph.
But at least he looked cool going down the road with the chopped fender.

| I think Cam's right bout the carb being the next thing to eliminate. In my limited knowledge I suspect that if one of the jets/needles is dirty & not letting fuel thru it could limit it. Has it got one carb or two? New plugs could be worth a try too. But I wonder if it has water & dirt in the carb. |

| Trying to scrounge a compression tester. One good thing about working with older guys used to farm yard building is they can give me a hand working on engines.
Going to try carb soon though, and hope thats it.

| Have done a few tweaks since I got home from work.
Will maybe get time to have a play with the bike in the morning and see if the tweaks improved anything.
